The Prototype Fund is a funding project for software developers and small teams, which was originally designed for 16 rounds. The funding phase of 15 of these rounds has been completed, and the projects of the 16th round are already being developed. As a learning funding program, we continue to evolve: You can find out how we will proceed at new.prototypefund.de and also on our blog. All information for interested applicants can also be found there.

We support independent individual developers and small teams in the implementation of their open source software ideas up to the prototype stage. Applications are accepted twice a year for up to €47,500  funding over a period of six months. In addition, the funding includes two coaching sessions as well as consulting and networking.
